Join us on November 21 or 22 when we present and gather input on the proposed Complete Street and Active Transportation Network that will form the spine of the future vibrant community at Tunney’s Pasture.
Over the coming years, Tunney’s Pasture will be transformed from a single-use employment centre into a transit-oriented and sustainable mixed-use community that is integrated with surrounding neighbourhoods, while maintaining a strong federal presence. The proposed network is key to this integration.
Public Services and Procurement Canada and Canada Lands Company are collaborating to develop the long-term plan that will guide the implementation of the award-winning Tunney’s Pasture Master Plan. Unveiling the proposed network and gathering your thoughts is an important step in the journey towards this transformation.
Two identical bilingual open houses are available where you will have the opportunity to review the Community Values that were developed last year with the public's input, to reflect the community’s vision for this mixed-use development. You will also see and have an opportunity to react to the proposed Complete Street and Active Transportation Network that will connect Tunney’s Pasture to surrounding neighbourhoods and the Ottawa River.
Location:
170 Tunney’s Pasture Driveway
Cafeteria – Jean Talon Building

Dates and time:

On April 13, the Communities Perspectives Group (CPG) met in person and virtually to learn more about the 2014 Tunney’s Pasture Master Plan, and the project’s Urban Design Guidelines and Sustainability Charter. With that information in hand, CPG members were then asked to take part in a workshop to provide input into the development’s streets and active transportation networks, and infrastructure.
The project team will now turn its attention to putting together a workshop for the public to review and comment on a draft concept of the streets and active transportation networks, and infrastructure.
Stay tuned to this page or sign up for updates to learn more about these upcoming public sessions.

Starting in December 2022, Health Canada commissioned the deconstruction of the Environmental Health Centre (EHC) Laboratory located at 50 Colombine Driveway. A contract via Public Services and Procurement Canada was awarded to Cavan Construction. The project began with the construction of fencing around the building and adjacent green space (between EHC and Goldenrod driveway) and the entire area is cordoned off with fencing. Goldenrod and Columbine remain open.
This project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2023.
After deconstruction the site will be turned into a “Greenfield” that meets federal government policies, codes, standards and best practices of sustainability until such time as the area is redeveloped in accordance with the Tunney’s Pasture Master Plan. The landscape plan includes a vegetated slope and naturalized area on the site.

The members of the Communities’ Perspectives Group (CPG) held their first two meetings this fall with Canada Lands and PSPC. At these meetings the committee got the opportunity to meet one another, learn more about the project and the results of the first phase of community engagement, hear about their role moving forward, and begin to contribute in the development of Community Values that will inform the project going forward. A list of committee members can be found in the Document Library. The CPG will work as a sounding board on ideas and initiatives for the project team and as a strong community voice moving forward.
